What is the future of America?

So you want to know from the Bible what is the future of America? That is a very worth while thing to know – especially if you live in America.

Do you want my opinion or the results of my study – or do you want to study the subject for yourself?

You take a huge risk if you take my word and the results of my study for learning what the Bible says about America. If you are just curious and are collecting ideas – that is one thing. It may take longer to learn what everybody relates the Bible to be saying about America than to study it out for yourself. My computer tells me that Google has “About 283,000 results (0.25 seconds)” for the search “america in prophecy”. This website will reveal what I currently believe the Bible says about America in prophecy. But it will do you a greater service if you can learn how to find out how to study the Bible yourself – so you can know for yourself and believe the Bible for yourself – rather than to take my opinion on the subject. What I currently believe is not of much moment for you. But what you believe on any subject has a profound affect on you.

Warning!! Be careful what you believe. What you believe changes you!!!

Consider this statement on the affect that belief has on you:

Through belief in Satan's misrepresentation of God, man's character and destiny were changed, but if men will believe in the Word of God, they will be transformed in mind and character, and fitted for eternal life. To believe that "God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16), will change the heart, and reproduce in man the image of God.” {1SM 346.1}

So how do I study the Bible for myself to see what it says about America in prophecy?

In Revelation chapter 13 two beasts are seen coming up or rising up. The first beast rose out of the sea and the second (V11) came up out of the earth. So what does this mean? The two books of the Bible that contain a lot of prophecies are the books of Daniel, in the Old Testament, and Revelation, the last book of the Bible in the New Testament. Now it is useful to let the Bible interpret itself. An important thing to know about God is that He is the author of the Bible and He tells us about Himself:

Malachi 3:6 For I [am] the LORD, I change not; ....

Understanding Bible Symbols

Seeing that the Lord God does not change, we can depend upon what He tells us a figure or a symbol indicates or means. If a symbol means one thing in a section of the Bible, it will mean the same thing in another section of the Bible. If it has any other meanings the context will make it clear. For example “water” will usually mean “people” in symbol (Revelation of John 17:15:

And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.). However “water” can also mean in symbol “regenerating agency” as in John 4:14: (”But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”). In Titus 3:5: (“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”) the implied water (in washing) we can understand to mean the Holy Spirit by poetic parallelism.

Sometimes the words mean exactly, literally what the words mean. How then can it be determined when to understand a word to be literally what the word means and when to understand the meaning of the word to be what that symbol or figure means? This is usually not difficult. If the Bible tells us:

Daniel 6:12 “Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king's decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask [a petition] of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing [is] true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.”

And the discussion is about throwing someone into a den of lions for breaking a law of the king, it is then obvious that a literal meaning is what the context tells us the verses are talking about.

However if the passage starts out as it does in Revelation 13 that the prophet stood on the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, and then describes the beast to be nothing that we recognize as a regular or common beast or animal, then we can know that the prophet is seeing a vision where beasts are seen as symbols to mean something other than a literal animal. The context will endorse this understanding. So from the context we can see that the beast is a symbol of something and not a literal animal. If there is another place in the Bible that the same or similar symbol is used and explained to the prophet what the symbol means, then we have our answer as to what the same symbol means in this context.

In Daniel chapter eight we read that Daniel saw a vision. And in this vision he saw a ram and a goat fighting:

Daniel 8:1 In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, [even unto] me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.

8:2 And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I [was] at Shushan [in] the palace, which [is] in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai.

8:3 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had [two] horns: and the [two] horns [were] high; but one [was] higher than the other, and the higher came up last.

8:4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither [was there any] that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.

8:5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat [had] a notable horn between his eyes.

8:6 And he came to the ram that had [two] horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.

Later in the chapter we are told that Daniel tried to figure out what the vision meant. He heard a voice commanding the angel Gabriel to make him understand the meaning of what he had seen:

Daniel 8:20 The ram which thou sawest having [two] horns [are] the kings of Media and Persia.

8:21 And the rough goat [is] the king of Grecia: and the great horn that [is] between his eyes [is] the first king.

8:22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

So from this explanation of these symbols we can understand that under similar circumstances, the meaning of the symbols would be similar. Thus we have learned that:

Animals or beasts can illustrate kingdoms or empires or nations.

Horns can mean kings or powers or even kingdoms.

What these beasts illustrate is what the kingdom or power they represent is going to do.

So we can understand that in Revelation 13 a power or kingdom is described as rising up out of the sea.

To understand what rising up out of the sea may mean, we see in Isaiah nations and lots of people are described as being like a sea:

Isaiah 17:12 Woe to the multitude of many people, [which] make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, [that] make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!

Isaiah 17:13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but [God] shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.

Then when it spells it out for us, telling us what waters mean;

Revelation 17:15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues;

... we can be certain that the sea that the beast rises up out of are many people or a very populated part of the world like Europe.

In contrast to the sea, the second beast of Revelation 13, comes up out of the earth. This could mean a sparsely settled part of the earth.

Now if we can find a history of a nation or nations that fit the description of the origins of these two beasts or kingdoms, then we can identify what countries or nations this prophecy is describing, unless of course, the Bible names the nations that the symbols represent as it did in Daniel 8 naming Medo-Persia and Greece.

Who is the First Beast of Revelation 13?

The first beast of Revelation 13 is not named in Scripture as Medo-Persia and Greece were.  This first beast of Revelation 13 must be identified by its characteristics:

1. It arises from a populace part of the world where the population is like a sea of people.

2. It has seven heads and ten horns with ten crowns on the ten horns.

3. It is a composite beast with a body of a leopard, feet of a bear, a lion's mouth and given power, seat, and authority by the dragon.

In Daniel 2 God tells us that there are going to be four world empires, the fourth of which has two phases illustrated by the two legs of iron and divides into 10 kingdoms before it is destroyed by the rock that is cut out of the mountain without hands.  Babylon was identified by Daniel to the king Nebuchadnezzar os being the first of four kingdoms to rule the world.  The next two kingdoms are identified in Daniel 8:20,21 as Medo-Persia and Greecia.  The fourth beast to come out of the sea in Daniel 7 was a composite beast with great iron teeth and feet that it used to stomp on its enemies and is described as being diverse or different from the other three beasts before it.  These four beasts are told us by God are 4 kingdoms rule the earth before God's kingdom is set up which lasts forever and ever (Dan. 7:17,18).  History tells us that Rome was the kingdom that followed Greece.  The kingdom of Rome has two phases - pagan and papal like the two legs of the image of Daniel 2.  The Holy Roman Empire experienced a deadly wound in 1798 when the pope was taken captive and died in prison.  Thus history helps us identify the composite beast of Revelation 13 as Papal Rome.  Papal Rome arises from the ashes of pagan Rome who gave it seat, power and authority as represented by the dragon.  Persecution of dissenting believers continued in Papal Rome as was the policy under pagan Rome in an attempt to strengthen the government.  Looking for a place in the world free from religious persecution is part of the background and history of the rise and development of the second beast of Revelation 13.

The identification of both first and second beasts of Revelation 13 will be more fully considered next.

Who is the Second Beast of Revelation 13?

So let us look carefully at the second beast of Revelation 13 and see what we are told about this nation.

Revelation 13:11-18:

13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

13:12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by [the means of] those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number [is] Six hundred threescore [and] six.

The setting or context of this second beast:

  1. The first beast of Revelation 13 is the context for the second beast.

  2. The two beasts relate and react with each other:

Revelation 13:12 “And he (the second beast) exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.”

  1. The first beast comes up first and must be first in history because it was “before him” (V12) (the second beast) and has time to receive a deadly wound and survive and live again to have the second beast make an image to it.

  2. Besides these two obvious beasts or kingdoms, there is a third entity called the dragon which in Revelation 13:2 gives the first beast three things:

a) his power

b) his seat

c) great authority

  1. The context of both beasts is one of world domination and coercion.

  2. Both beasts have a relationship with the dragon. The first received the seat, power, and great authority from the dragon. The second speaks as a dragon.

Can we identify these beasts of Revelation 13?

Looking at the data given us in Revelation 13, can we identify these two beasts?

What have we been told about the first beast?

  1. The first power comes up before the second power.

  2. The first arose in a populous place and had seven heads and ten horns with crowns on the ten horns and the name of blasphemy on the seven heads.

  3. The power was leopard-like in body, bear-like in feet and lion-like in mouth.

  4. It was given power, seat, and great authority by the dragon.

  5. One of its heads was wounded to death and much to the wonder of all the world, the deadly wound was healed.

  6. The world all worshiped the dragon and the first beast saying two things:

a) who is like unto the beast?

b) who can make war with him?

  1. The beast was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies and was given power to continue 42 months

  2. This beast blasphemed God three ways:

a) the name of God

b) the tabernacle of God

c) them that dwell in heaven

  1. This beast was given to make war with the saints and to overcome them.

  2. This beast was given power over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations

  3. This beast was worshiped by all that dwell on the earth except those whose names are written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

  4. A warning is sounded in this connection having something to do with the patience and the faith of the saints: “He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity; he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword.”

Based on the identifying data given to us about this first beast of Revelation 13, anybody that has knowledge of history would be able to identify this first because so much and such diverse data is supplied.

In all fairness perhaps most people today may not commonly know some of the language used in Revelation 13 in the King James Version.

For instance – what is blasphemy? Asking the average person what blasphemy is – might likely not to be readily answered. Reader, how would you define blasphemy?

What does the Bible call blasphemy?

The word “blasphemy” occurs in the KJV Bible a dozen times. Defining statements are found in these texts:

Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the [world] to come.

Speaking against the Holy Ghost (Spirit) is the unpardonable sin and defines blasphemy according to these verses.

Matthew And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

26:65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

John 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

In these verses blasphemy is defined as calling yourself the Christ, the Son of God, or making yourself equal with God.

Mark 2:7 Why doth this [man] thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

This verse defines blasphemy as one in place of God who can forgive sins.

Is there any power on earth today that would fill this description:?

2 Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Most people may not, with confidence, today identify anyone from that text. One hundred years ago, any protestant child could tell who that was talking about.

But there is more to it than blasphemy to identify this power. We have 11 points of identification.

There are the leopard, bear, and the lion identification of this first beast power. To get the Bible identifications of these animal symbols we need to hear the explanation given in the Bible to the vision Daniel had recorded in Daniel 7:

Daniel7:1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, [and] told the sum of the matters.

7:2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.

7:3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.

7:4 The first [was] like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.

7:5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and [it had] three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

7:6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

The meaning of these beast-powers were told Daniel to be 4 kingdoms that would arise on earth:

Daniel 7:17 These great beasts, which are four, [are] four kings, [which] shall arise out of the earth.

7:18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

7:19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth [were of] iron, and his nails [of] brass; [which] devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;

7:20 And of the ten horns that [were] in his head, and [of] the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even [of] that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look [was] more stout than his fellows.

7:21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

7:22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

7:24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom [are] ten kings [that] shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

7:25 And he shall speak [great] words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

7:26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy [it] unto the end.

7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

& nbsp;

History clearly identifies these four world kingdoms for us:

The lion with wings was the symbol of Babylon identified from archeological findings of the lion with wings in ancient Babylon.

The bear that raised up on one side is clearly identified in history as Medo-Persia that followed Babylon as a world power.

The leopard with four heads and four wings is identified in history as the next world kingdom which was Greece.

The fourth kingdom was different. It is the Roman Empire that disintegrated into 10 parts or kings and had the characteristics of the proceeding powers, and had two phases illustrated by the two legs of the great image of Daniel 2. These two phases of Rome are still with us to this day. The pagan phase of Rome lasted until its capital (seat) and power and authority of pagan Rome was handed over to Papal Rome that continues to this day. But paganism is by no means gone from the world. It has simply changed its form as has Papal Rome adapted its face to fit modern conditions – but neither pagan or Papal Rome have changed any. They are still what they have always been in terms of continually (“daily”) resisting God's will and ways and drawing attention and worship of the seen and not the unseen. In terms of “seen& rdquo; and “unseen” God tells us in II Corinthians 4:18:

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

So now that we know what the Bible and history says the four beasts beasts are – lets review the characteristics of the first beast and see if we think our hypothetical average person of today could identify the first beast of Revelation 13 - with a knowledge of history and given the knowledge of what the Bible calls blasphemy.

& nbsp;

Review:

History

From ancient Babylon until today their have been four world empires:

  1. Babylon lion with wings

  2. Medo-Persia bear raised up one side greater than the other

  3. Grecia leopard with four heads and four wings

  4. Rome, pagan and Papal that persists until today composite beast with characteristics of previous empires/beasts.

Was wounded and survived to the wonder of the whole world

Is the continuation of pagan Rome with the seat, power, and authority of pagan Rome

Claims to be God on earth and claims power to forgive sins

Has a strong history of making war and overcoming the saints of God

Has both political and civil power

Has no comparison and no nation today would go to war against.

There is only one possible power on earth today that this identification fits – that is Papal Rome.

Identification of the second beast of Revelation 13

This is what we are told about this second beast in Revelation 13:

  1. Comes up after the papacy in history (who we have identified as the first beast of Revelation 13).

  2. Arises in a relatively unpopulated part of the world.

  3. It has two horns like a lamb and a voice like the dragon.

  4. It exercises power parallel to the papacy – world wide in scope and reaches to the individual in control.

  5. Forces world wide worship to the papacy who had the deadly wound and lived.

  6. Does great wonders making fire come down from heaven in the sight of men

  7. Is a deceiving power making an image to the papacy who had the deadly wound and lived.

  8. Gives life to the image of the papacy including the death penalty for non-worship of the image of the beast.

  9. Marks the population of the world in their right hand or their foreheads for the purpose of enforcing worship to the image of/to the papacy by economic sanctions.

  10. Comment: the number of the papacy is 666. It is the number of a man – the Pope.

Identifying marks noted above 5-9 are still future. No nation on earth has forced worship to the papacy, who had the deadly wound (in 1798 when France took the pope captive who died in prison) and yet has recovered.

So we can ask:

What nation since the time of Rome has started in relatively unpopulated parts of the earth?

What nation was lamb-like with two horns of power initially but later developed a dragon voice?

What nation exercises world wide power similar to the papacy?

What nation would be able to force worship to the papacy?

What nation would be able to bring fire down from heaven in the sight of men? (comment: Elijah in the Old Testament Bible times made a public test to identify the true God from the false god Baal on the top of mount Carmel. This is suggestive that at some time in the future a similar public test will be proposed by some recognized religious leader. This time in the context of the prophecy it appears that fire will be brought down from heaven by Satan to prove that the false religion – according to the Bible criteria – is the true god by demonstration of fire coming down from heaven!)

What nation would deceive to make an image to/of the papacy? (Comment: the Papacy is a civil authority that is also a world religion. Here is a union of church and state; religious and civil authority combined. An image to the beast would be another world power that would combine the church and the state or enforce the decrees of the church with civil power as was done during the Dark Ages.)

What nation could enforce a universal law with economic sanctions then a death penalty?

The United States of America fills all of those specifications and possibilities. United States of America developed rapidly in the “new world” in relatively sparsely populated America. America's early power was related to its two lamb-like horns: republican form of government based on its constitution and its protestant principles of freedom of worship that attracted people from all over the world. More recently the United is talking to the nations with the voice of a dragon. America is the only nation in the present world poised with the ability to enforce a law on all nations with a track record of first economic sanctions followed by military might to gain compliance.

What is the Future of America?

According to God, written clearly in the books of Daniel and Revelation, this is the future of The United States:

Revelation of John 13:12:
And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

Religious coercion of the Papacy is coming to America.

Revelation of John 13:13:
And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

At some point in time in the future, need will be felt to prove the validity of the need for religious coercion or for some other reason, a demonstration of spiritual power will be made by the government or under US government sanction and approval, that will involve fire coming down from heaven in the sight of men.

Revelation of John 13:14:
And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

This demonstration of fire coming down from heaven will deceive the American nation into making an image to the beast.

What does it mean to make an image to the beast?

The Papacy is a union of churchcraft and statecraft.  To make an image to the Papacy means that in the United States churchcraft and statecraft would be united.

Revelation of John 13:15:
And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

The persecution of the old world will come to America.  What our Pilgrim Fathers fled the old world to escape will catch up with them in America, the Land of the free and the Home of the brave!

Revelation of John 13:16:
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

United States citizens will be identified with a mark or an identity card or in some way to identify who is who in connection with compliance with United States government religious laws.

Revelation of John 13:17:
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Revelation of John 13:18:
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

The man would naturally be the head of the papacy, or the pope. A leading title for the pope is "Vicar of the Son of God." In Latin this is Vicarius Filii Dei. Adding up the numeral letters (Roman numbers) in this title we have: V-5, 1-1, C-I00, (A and R. no value), 1-1, V (U)-5, (S and F. no value). 1-I, L-50, 1-1, 1-1, D-500, (E, no value), 1-1. This totals 666, the number the Bible gives for the beast.

This follows the ancient custom of a person's having a name and a number also.

The Douay Bible (Catholic) gives this note on Revelation 13:18: "Six hundred sixty-six. The numeral letters of his name shall make up this number."
